Thank you for your interest in CHFA Membership!
CHFA has three categories of membership:
Supplier, Retailer and Associate.
To be eligible for membership, you must fall into these categories.
Full Supplier
Suppliers of natural products and/or organics, where these products are destined for distribution through retail stores or via the internet.
First year supplier
A first-time membership for companies that will qualify for “Full Supplier” (see above) membership in their second year. First year supplier is only available once.
Master Retailer
A retail store stocked with 50% or more of natural health products and/or health foods; which does not sell tobacco products, and which sells from verifiable retail premises. Corporate head offices must list all secondary stores and calculate fees based on total sales of all stores. With the exception of one vote for the corporate head office, secondary stores are accorded all CHFA member benefits, but no individual voting privileges. Franchise stores may apply separately for membership, if independently incorporated, in order to have voting privileges.
First year retailer
A first-time membership for stores that will qualify for “Master Retail Stores” membership in their second year, not yet open, or stores in their first year of business. First Year Retailer membership is only available once.

Clinics, Gyms and Spas
Natural health products, supplements and foods are sold as a compliment to the principal business.
Health Practitioners
Health practitioners selling natural health products and supplements as part of their principal business (i.e. Chinese, traditional, and herbal medicines, ND, MD, trainers). Practitioners are requested to provide a copy of their credentials. This membership is personal and not intended for clinics.
Industry Consultants
Individual consultants and firms providing regulatory expertise and testing services to the natural products industry.
Associate Retail - Stores
A retail store stocked with less than 50% of natural products and/or organics which sell to consumers without retail premises (i.e. restaurant/food service, grocery and dry-goods chain stores, internet sales). Corporate head offices must list all secondary stores and calculate fees based on total sales of all stores. Secondary stores are accorded all CHFA member benefits.
B2B Vendors to NHP Industry
Suppliers of services to CHFA member retailers and suppliers. These firms do not supply natural products or foods (i.e. shipping, labels, retail accessories/equipment, etc.)
Organic Certification Provider
Organic certification provider for food, fiber and related production Agency must state accreditation(s) with application.
Industry Media
Natural products, food or food service print, and electronic media.
Farmer, Grower, Producer Co-operative
Primary agriculture producer (or producers linked in one marketing unit) joining as a representative of a farm or a co-operative.
Not-For-Profit Organizations
Natural products relevant not-for-profit organizations including: association memberships (for head office, not individual members), school faculty (not students), and government (at ministry or agency level).
