What is CHFA?
The Canadian Health Food Association is the largest organization dedicated to the natural health and organic products industry in Canada. CHFA ensures the growth of the natural health and organic industry by empowering and supporting our members.
Who are CHFA members?
The Association represents manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, distributors, growers and importers of natural health and organic products, including foods, vitamin and mineral supplements, herbal products, homeopathics, sports nutrition products, fibres and health and beauty aids. With a membership of over 1,000+ business owners and operators, CHFA represents an industry that contributes $3.5 billion to the Canadian economy.

What does CHFA do?
In addition to serving as the recognized voice of the natural health and organic products industry, CHFA provides a host of benefits for its members. We help to support their business interests and give them the tools to succeed in the industry. We offer support in the following areas:
Advocacy and Outreach
CHFA aims to secure a fair regulatory environment for natural health and organic products. We have partnered with Impact Public Affairs to create a long-term government relations plan, in order to resolve industry-wide regulatory and legislative concerns. CHFA is also committed to building an effective grassroots advocacy network.
Regulatory Affairs
In addition to regularly communicating with government officials, CHFA represents industry concerns by making committee-based recommendations to Health Canada. We monitor all regulatory changes and contribute to the clarity of national standards.
Communications
CHFA provides essential information through a variety of media. We currently provide 5 publications, a podcast, a members-only website, and connection through social media networks to keep subscribers up to speed on health news, regulatory issues, and CHFA accomplishments.
Trade Shows and Conferences
CHFA is the leading provider of conferences and trade shows for the natural health and organic product industry in Canada. These events offer an important networking opportunity for industry members as well as a platform to showcase the best of the natural health and organic products industry.
Education
The Certified Natural Products Advisor Course is fast becoming training for retail staff and supplier sales reps. This self-paced program offers the training necessary to navigate the natural health products industry with credibility and expertise.
